Kindness
Last January 29th, someone showed me kindness in the most simplest way. And I would like to share it. As we all know that a few winterstorm passed and had made the roads and parking lots heavily covered by snow and ice. My car was unrecognizable because of that. I was running out of my routine medications so I have to go pick up my meds, no matter what.
Standing in front of my car, I cant imagine how I can even shovel the ice around and over it. Then a gentleman, who lives in same building as i am, stood beside me, also looking at my car. He asked, "your car?" I answered, " yes. "
And to top it all, my car battery has died, due to the cold. This gentleman asked, " are you going somewhere?" I told him that I was supposed to pick up my meds. He said, " I cant help you with shoveling but I can drive you to get your meds." He is 70 years old with a bad back.
And that was the kindness I received that day. From a stranger. When I offered to pay for his gas, at least, he refused. He drove me to my pharmacy and waited for me and drove me back ( since we live in the same building ). I seldom get kindness from strangers.
This is one memorable kindness that I shall never forget.
