Leela Improv Theatre is a holistic improvisational theatre company and training center dedicated to creating original work through truthful, artistic play. Founded in 2003 in San Francisco and now rooted in Raleigh, Leela cultivates creative communities locally and globally through performance, education, and collaboration.
Leela’s mission is guided by three core principles: Truthful: exploring the authentic truths of the artists involved on stage, Artistic: transforming these truths into compelling and accessible works of art, and Play: infusing the joy of childlike play into the creation of these works.
This space connects the global Leela community of students, performers, alumni, and artists who continue learning, sharing, and supporting one another both in person and online. Whether you are performing, training, or reconnecting with improvisation, Leela remains an artistic home throughout your creative life.
