I recently wrote to a colleague in Central Asia about the innovations that are happening in North America regarding self education. Has the Canadian and US State Departments erected firewalls or can the progress being made here in education be exported/shared with less affluent countries? Also, can self-education be packaged such that Internet connections are not always required? My training was as an agricultural Extension educator working with fruit producers in eastern USA. Several times I went overseas to train people in the field. I see great potential in what is being discussed at this site.
