Gypsy jazz is about ensemble playing. What if you could have other musicians play with you without leaving home ? Maybe you like the idea but the folks you know don't. On this platform, Skool, there are people from many countries and meeting them in person is not very practical. Some of them may have fast internet and the gear necessary for playing together online. Not the Zoom or Meet kind of thing, I am talking about a system made for musicians with latencies so short that they do not interfere with the music. These systems are not very widely known yet and you may never have heard of JackTrip, Jamkazam, FarPlay, Jamulus or Sonobus.
I organize several jam sessions every week on some of these platforms. We have sessions with participants from all over Europe and part of the US and people love it. Have a look at the unedited recording of our last public live streaming session https://www.jacktrip.com/recordings/7xrUBcwVFGoU2v5d4asiI Most sessions are private and there is no obligation to have public ones. It is also possible to organise specific gypsy jazz jam sessions if there are some guitar players from this community who want to give it a try.
Just let me know.
