Getting clients can seem daunting for most beginners, both builders and consultants. I struggled a lot here.
Here are my two strategies that consistently work:
1. Build a “Proof Loop” instead of a content calendar.
Most people post generic AI tips.
Instead, every piece of content should point back to one real result.
Start with free clients(testimonials/case studies), then market their outcomes to paying clients.
Rule of thumb: build TRUST, it sells more than anything!
Example:
• The problem the client had.
• The automation you built.
• How long it took.
• The measurable outcome.
• What changed for the business.
One client success can become:
• A LinkedIn post.
• An Instagram carousel.
• A short video.
• A case study.
• Cold outreach material.
• A sales call example.
You don’t need more content.
You need more proof.
2. Sell a “workflow teardown” before you sell automation.
Rule of thumb: DIAGNOSE before you PRESCRIBE. Specificity sells more!
Most agencies jump straight into pitching systems.
Instead, offer a teardown of one broken workflow and show exactly where time, leads, or revenue are being lost.
Example:
• A lead response process that takes too long.
• A follow-up sequence that stops after one email.
• A manual admin task that eats hours every week.
• A support process that could be handled faster.
• A booking flow that loses people before they convert.
Then show:
• What’s broken.
• What it’s costing them.
• What should be automated first.
• What the result would look like.
This works because it feels specific, practical, and low-risk to potential buyers.
