After trying 8+ email tracking tools, I built one that shows link clicks too. Would you use this?
I've been doing cold outreach for years and kept running into the same problem.
Most email trackers tell you:
  • ✅ Opened
  • ❌ No idea if they actually clicked your proposal or pricing page.
For me, a click is a much stronger buying signal than an open.
So I built a Chrome extension for Gmail called Clik Email Tracker.
Current features:
  • Email open tracking
  • Link click tracking
  • Device detection
  • Location insights
  • Works directly inside Gmail
My goal wasn't to compete with enterprise sales platforms. I wanted something simple for founders, freelancers, agencies, and consultants who just want to know who's genuinely interested.
The biggest challenge hasn't been building it—it has been figuring out whether people value click tracking enough to switch from the tools they're already using.
So I'd love some honest feedback from other founders:
  1. Do you currently use an email tracker? Which one?
  2. Would link click tracking change how you follow up?
  3. What's the one feature missing from your current email tracker?
  4. If you stopped using one, what made you leave?
I'm not looking for praise—I genuinely want to understand whether I'm solving a problem worth continuing to invest in.
Happy to answer any technical or product questions as well.
