Most “People Problems” Are Really Design Problems
When something keeps getting missed, forgotten, or delayed, we usually blame effort.
Not focused enough.
Not disciplined enough.
Not organized enough.
But more often than not, the real issue is design.
If a task relies on memory, motivation, or perfect timing, friction is already baked into the system. And over time, that friction shows up as stress, dropped balls, and burnout, even with good people involved.
Automation works best when it’s quiet.
removes the “did I remember to…?” moments without getting in the way of human judgment.
The goal isn’t to do more, it’s to make the right things inevitable.
So here’s today’s question
What part of your work still depends too much on remembering instead of being designed to happen automatically?
