Advice on work-around for lead magnet

, i have another question following yesterday's call. i have another simple lead magnet that i would like to embed in an article i wrote. Say i would do the following, would that still work to collect names and e-mail addresses?

i was thinking about using just a home page in kreator kit and allow immediate download from there without first going to a thank you page. People would com from my website to that page, download from there, without having to go to a third page. Say i select for the download button to go to the url for the download (instead of 'next step'), i would still get people's names and email addresses in my database, right?

If so, this would be a great alternative for me, to launch at least this lead magnet, as we figure out the calendar part.

Or would you advice to let the button on my website lead to the thank you page and install a pop-up window there (for now) where people can insert their details and then get redirected to the actual download? (with this last option, i would temporarily remove the 'book a call' section and reinstate it when we are done with those reconfigurations).
