When Marriage Feels More Like Roommates Than Covenant
There is a dangerous place many couples drift into.
Not because they stopped loving each other...
But because they stopped pursuing each other.
They still share a house.
Still pay bills.
Still raise children.
Still sleep in the same bed...
But somewhere along the journey they quietly became roommates instead of covenant partners.
Here's the difference.
The KID says:
❌ We're not fighting... so we're doing okay.
❌ The KID settles for coexistence.
❌ He waits for his wife to initiate.
❌ He assumes she'll understand.
❌ He gets comfortable with silence.
❌ He mistakes routine for intimacy.
❌ He hopes things will somehow get better without becoming better himself.
The KID "keeps ignoring disaster."

The KING says:
👑 God didn't call us to merely stay married. He called us to become one.
👑 The KING understands that covenant requires continual cultivation.
👑 He pursues.
👑 He listens.
👑 He dates his wife.
👑 He apologizes quickly.
👑 He notices the little things.
👑 He creates emotional safety.
👑 He protects connection before problems appear.
👑 He knows that every day he is either building intimacy... or allowing distance to grow.

A marriage rarely falls apart overnight.
It slowly drifts.
One missed conversation.
One unmet need.
One unspoken hurt.
One ignored disappointment at a time.
Until one day both people look across the room and wonder...

The good news?
What drifted apart can be intentionally restored.
Jesus doesn't just restore marriages.
He restores hearts.
He restores friendship.
He restores covenant.
