The KID Doesn't Show Up Looking Like a Kid...
Most men think the KID shows up as anger.
Sometimes he does.
But more often?
He shows up as silence.
He shows up as avoidance.
He shows up as shutting down because you don't know what to say.
He shows up when your wife asks a question and you give a one-word answer.
He shows up when you know a conversation needs to happen, but you keep putting it off.
He shows up when you're frustrated, hurt, overwhelmed, or confused... and instead of dealing with it,
you distract yourself with work, TV, social media, hobbies, or just staying busy.
That's why I say:
KID = Keep Ignoring Disaster
The disaster usually isn't one big event.
It's the little things.
The conversations you avoid.
The feelings you never process.
The apologies you never make.
The leadership you never step into.
The connection you keep postponing.
Then one day a husband wakes up and says:
"I don't know how we got here."
But the truth is...
He does.
The KID got comfortable.
And every day the KID stayed on the throne, the KING stayed hidden.
👑 The KING does something different.
KING = Know I Need God
The KING doesn't wait until he has all the answers.
The KING takes responsibility.
The KING gets curious instead of defensive.
The KING leans into uncomfortable conversations.
The KING asks God for wisdom instead of pretending everything is okay.
The KING understands that leadership starts with leading himself.
