I persevere through every season and do not quit.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” — Galatians 6:9
Kingdom Lesson
Perseverance is one of the defining characteristics of a life that fulfills God’s purpose. Scripture repeatedly calls us to endure, to remain steady, and to continue even when the journey becomes difficult. The promise is clear—there is a harvest, but it is reserved for those who do not quit.
James tells us that the one who endures will receive the crown of life. Paul writes that tribulation produces patience, and patience develops character and hope. Hebrews reminds us that we have need of endurance so that after we have done the will of God, we will receive the promise. These passages reveal a consistent truth: perseverance is not optional—it is required.
The Christian life is often described as a race, not a sprint. We are instructed to run with patience the race set before us. This means there will be obstacles, resistance, and moments of fatigue. Yet Scripture also declares that those who endure to the end will be saved. The reward is not for those who start—it is for those who finish.
Throughout Scripture, we see powerful examples of perseverance. Joseph endured betrayal and imprisonment but remained faithful until God elevated him. Moses faced constant opposition yet continued to lead. Ruth remained loyal through loss and uncertainty. David endured seasons of pursuit and pressure before stepping fully into his calling.
Jeremiah continued to preach despite rejection. Job endured unimaginable loss yet refused to abandon his faith. Peter failed but was restored and continued forward. Paul endured persecution and hardship while pressing on in his mission. The woman with the issue of blood pushed through opposition until she reached Jesus. Each of these lives tells the same story—perseverance leads to purpose fulfilled.
Even Jesus Himself endured the cross, demonstrating ultimate obedience to the Father. If perseverance was necessary in His earthly mission, it will certainly be necessary in ours.
Perseverance is not just about enduring hardship—it is about trusting God through it. There will be moments when you feel weary in well doing, but Scripture encourages us not to lose heart. God sees every act of faithfulness, every moment of obedience, and every step forward.
I am reminded of a powerful statement from Les Brown “When life knocks you down, make sure you can look up, because if you can look up, you can get up.” There will be times when life hits hard, but as long as your eyes remain on God, you have the strength to rise again.
God is a good Father. He is not leading us into difficulty to destroy us, but to develop us. Perseverance builds strength, deepens faith, and prepares us for what is ahead. When we remain steadfast, we will accomplish what God has placed before us.
This Kingdom Key Point reminds us that quitting is not an option for those who are called. The promise is real. The harvest is certain. If we remain faithful and continue forward, we will see the fulfillment of what God has spoken.
Kingdom Quote
If you can look up, you can get up—and if you don’t quit, you will reap.
