So I tried adding 5ml cardamom liqueur (cardamom soaked in everclear with 3-to-2, water-to-sugar, simple syrup) to a "Old Fashioned" consisting of 40ml Celery liqueur (totally recommend making) 70ml bourbon, and 5ml Amara (a bitter orange amaro). Unfortunately, the cardamom completely overtook the drink. Has anyone else had experience with cardamom liqueur. If so, which recipes have you made with it and how have you balanced the cocktails?
