How I’d Get My First Junk Removal Job Today (Facebook Marketplace Method)
If I had to start from zero today with just my pickup truck when I was 18 years old, this is exactly how I’d get my first junk removal job fast. No ads. No website. No overthinking. Literally just Facebook Marketplace.
Step 1: Just create a simple listing📋
Go to Facebook Marketplace and post something like;
"Junk Removal Services: Same Day Pickup"
"I offer junk removal and hauling services. Furniture, appliances, garage cleanouts, yard waste, etc. Fast response and affordable pricing. Message me with pictures for a free quote."
Step 2: Use some basic photos, you don't need anything fancy📸
  • Your truck or trailer, doesn't even need junk inside.
  • A few random loading/dump photos if you have them
  • Even moving items around in your house or stock images of “before/after” if you’re just starting
The goal is just to look like it's real, not perfect.
Step 3: Respond to messages, and FAST⚡
This is where a lot of people lose money, not just beginners.
When someone messages you:
  • Reply immediately
  • Ask for photos of what they need removed
  • Give a quick rough price range
  • Don’t overcomplicate it
You gotta be faster so they don't go looking for others.
Step 4: Keep pricing simple🫰
When you’re starting out, don’t try to be perfect.
Just quote based on:
  • small load = low price
  • medium load = mid price
  • full trailer/truck = higher price
I recommend taking a look at your local landfill or dump station's menu to see what they charge.
You’ll refine pricing over time, but the goal early is just to get jobs.
Step 5: Close the job✅
Once they agree:
  • Confirm time
  • Show up on time
  • Be professional but simple
  • Load everything efficiently
  • Collect payment immediately after
