The trap of porngraphy & Evolutionary Psych
For anyone that has any issues because of porn (ED, low confidence, shattered expectations). This will probably resonate with you if you are typically one of the guys that had internet access at an extremely young age and spent a lot of time on it without adult supervision or if you are into evolutionary psychology. I think everyone who reads this will learn something.
What inspired me to write this were some issues about 3 or 4 months ago. In the bedroom my "manhood" wasn't "manhooding." I did a good amount of research to see what the issue can be; I found it can be low testosterone, bad diet, anxiety, etc. So I thought maybe it could be anxiety and a bad diet; my diet was and is still not the best. It is not like I am eating shit foods every day, like McDonald's or something like that, but I for sure am not eating my fruits and veggies. So I started to take supplements that increased blood flow and had important nutrition, such as vitamin D, magnesium, etc. Did it work? Kind of. I saw and felt the benefits, but it was not a magic pill; there was still something blocking the stream.
I also had friends who told me about how much they like sex, the positions they like, the pregnancy scares, etc. Now out of my friends, I would say I am definitely one of the more active and physically superior ones (even at a lighter weight), with a better diet compared to them or to the one person I have in mind at the very least. So I started to think the diet part wasn't fully sound (meaning valid).
That is when I started to think if pornography was the issue. I wasn't sold on it at the start, mainly because of cope or something, but about a month ago I really started to look into it. Also, I tended to last longer whenever I didn't masturbate as frequently.
I then got into the evolutionary psychology rabbit hole. I was finding out why I did it, and if you believe in the sperm wars theory, it is because of having more healthy sperm, infidelity, sperm competition, etc.
I was challenging this, using ChatGPT, going back and forth with it to see what parts of the book are true or false. There are some things that Baker could've been wrong about or are not fully sound. In my opinion, if someone or something is claiming or trying to be true and you discover a hole, you better examine it because who is to say they are not wrong about something else? For your own self-interest and others.
Now, I then continued challenging the teachings of Robin Baker's Sperm Wars and the things Jace has said. If we want to survive and replicate, then why do we engage in habits that we intellectually understand destroy us in a happiness and biological context (drugs, bad foods, habits)? If you can't get your dick hard, good luck passing on your genes; if the food you eat is shit, you'll die sooner, not fight as well, and not be seen as desirable, hence affecting your chances of replication and survival.
I do think the evolutionary drives have a play in it; our instinctual animal side is definitely part of the equation, but there was something I was missing...
A book that is called the Easy Peasy Method, which is a book that teaches users how to quit pornography, talks about the health issues porn causes and how it keeps users hooked. It said something very interesting, which is, "Internet porn works through hijacking natural reward mechanisms designed to keep you reproducing for as long as possible."
That's fucking a reference to evolutionary psychology, so this must have some truth in it from a source talking about addictions and pornography.
I then started to think, and then it clicked: this shit is a drug and an addiction. It hijacks our animal side of instant gratification and the need to survive and replicate; drugs and fast food follow the same concept—they have shit in them to produce high levels of dopamine or just food in general. Why do we like sex so much? You'll say because it feels good, which is caused by the dopamine receptors; that's how you get the feel-good feeling. Why do we have that feature? For survival and replicating.
This leaves you with a couple of takeaways.
First, the people that created high-speed pornography are fucking smart and devils because they understand how to market and use evolutionary psychology to keep their pockets bigger. You can say it is the elites doing, and they want to fuck over humanity to keep their interests safe, etc.
Second, this shit isn't good for you: the porn, smoking, and bad food.
Third, I don't want to project the misconception that our instincts/biological impulses are shit or bad always. They definitely help keep you alive and happy, but just like everything, nothing is perfect. Thankfully we have the ability to somewhat manipulate when to allow the intelligence or the instinct to take control. Farming, by the way, is a byproduct of delaying gratification or hitting the gym and eating a good diet.
We have people here as well that understand this and know the "when and how" process of denying/allowing gratification. The first person that comes to mind is
For those that disagree and want to debunk my thoughts, go ahead, or if you agree with certain things but not everything, feel free to leave your thoughts.
If you have an addiction I'll link the book and audio book, also for smoking if you need it. The dude is called Allen Carr’s EasyWay to Quit Smoking.
A lot of people found it "suspicious" how this video is hard to find. So there is the elites argument.
