  • 2 lbs lean beef (top round, brisket flat, or flank — trimmed of fat)
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup barbecue sauce (choose a smoky or hickory style)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (adds that tangy BBQ balance)
  • 1 tsp liquid smoke (optional, enhances grill flavor)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp chili powder (optional, for a slight kick)
