Jazz Focused Playlists - YouTube Music
In the "Classroom" @Coach Marc-Andre Seguin has created Apple Music and Spotify playlists for historically significant jazz albums and guitar focused jazz albums. For those who do not have Spotify or Apple Music, I have duplicated these lists on YouTube Music. Here are the links: Historically significant Jazz Albums: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL67JCS3UfryzMNvop_7HJX2rfkceRRSEW&si=FcJ0esqRIjfmpsax Historically significant Guitar-Focused Jazz Albums https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL67JCS3UfryyYOFavNmIM0cAWHGQ_mLpU&si=qv0rhUr4Cc4zjCRQ NOTE: Coach Marc graciously approved this posting

Yamaha Silent Guitar and Borsi Pickup - So What
Please excuse the finger fumbles - I'm not sure if the wines for lunch helped or hindered. This should give some idea of this combination for anyone interested. The audio signal chain is Borsi pickup direct to high Z input of a Steinberg UR242 audio interface. Volume was on full, tone 50%, and there were no other effects, including eq or reverb. I apologise for the low volume, but my attempts to improve it didn't work. This was not a problem with the pickups. https://youtu.be/CHmf96_GzF8

Tools for Musicians
Here are a couple of potentially useful tools for musicians. Haven't used them but heard positive comments about them. Here's the links: Amazing Slow Downer - Change pitch or change speed or both https://www.ronimusic.com/amsldowin.htm DRmare - capture steaming audio, format conversion, etc https://www.drmare.com/

EQ settings for Jazz guitar
I was messing around with which guitar I should use primarily for Jazz, the eq on my amp and which gear I should use to get that great jazz sound and I stumbled across this article which goes into depth on EQ settings for your amp/eq device. This is especially for recording jazz guitar. Take a look if you want to know what types of guitars (archtops vs solid body) and which EQ settings may help you to get the sound you want. https://jaazz.me/2016/05/28/eq-settings-for-jazz-guitar/

Android phone
So I have an android phone (Google pixel 6) and was not thrilled with sound when I made a video for Autumn Leaves. The sound is slightly distorted. I just found a setting for ‘speech enhancement’ that is on by default. I turned it off and the clipping/distortion seems to no longer be an issue. Just an fyi for anyone else that has had the same issue.

YouTube (web) Extension For Musicians
If you ever wanted to loop a section of a YouTube video to help you figure it out or to practice over a certain section of a backing track try this extension to your browser. It works for Chrome, Edge and Firefox (I believe Safari is in the works - don't quote me). It's free and I find it useful. https://www.musiclessons.com/youtube/

iReal on all platforms
I recently found out, so perhaps others don't know, that iReal can run on Windows based laptops/desktops IF you are running Windows 11. Of course it also runs on Apple products. Here's a link: https://www.irealpro.com/

Jazz Resource Page
I, quite by accident, landed on the page linked below. Bob Keller apparently died within the last year but this page still exists. It has links to a ton of jazz resources. I don't want to take the time to look at all this stuff but some of you may be interested. Here you go, have fun: https://www.cs.hmc.edu/~keller/jazz/
