Life Update- My dad passed away
I wanted to share some personal news with you all. My dad passed away peacefully last weekend after being very sick for a long time. One of the last things he said to me was, "I wouldn't have changed a thing."
That really surprised me because his life wasn't easy. It's made me think a lot about why I'm so passionate about AI and automation - I want us to focus on the human parts of life while technology handles the routine stuff we have to deal with.
I wasn't sure if I should share personal news, but I decided to for a few reasons. First, the support my family and I have received has been incredible. It's a great reminder that while we can automate a lot, you can't automate community.
Second, my dad was very invested in all things Jam Ai. He couldn't figure out how to log into his email, but he always wanted to hear about the latest AI developments. He kept asking me if I was on TV yet and was so proud that I was traveling around the country speaking. In our final visits, he would ask about this community and how it was going.
Finally, this reminds me that life happens whether we're ready or not. People get sick, emergencies come up, but we also have celebrations, new opportunities, and important moments we need to be present for. The amazing thing is that because of AI tools, important work can still get done even when we need to step away.
I'm grateful I had a dad who taught me what really matters: family, friends, good food, and taking time to enjoy simple things.
Thank you all for being such a supportive community. It means more than you know.
-Jam
Has there been a time when AI has helped you so you could go do the human things? Tell us about it.
