Let’s make this interactive in our writing sesh ✨
——— As you already know, Ink & Alchemy Community is all about taking 10–15 minutes a day to expand on a thought and turn it into a piece of art.
Now… let’s evolve that.
Let’s learn how to do this with lyrics and maybe one day through collaboration or even talent development we can see our work into fruition and made into a full song that will
Get released into the wild. Get played in DJ sets worldwidee and tell our stories on a big scale.
Okay so here is your challenge today
🎯 Alchemy Challenge:
Take one of your old poems and turn it into song lyrics.
→ Focus on one idea, feeling, or moment inside your original work.
→ Transform it so it can be heard as well as read
Step by step ⬇️⬇️⬇️
- Pick one strong image or feeling from your poem.
- Describe it with senses – what you see, hear, feel, smell, or taste. How did the character in your poem feel? Describe it with imagery
- Repeat key words or phrases to make a rhythm or hook.
- Add small actions to give the lyrics movement.
- Read it out loud – does it flow like a song?
- (Optional) Hum or play a beat to see how it fits musically. —— if you have done this please record or describe your beat as best you can and post it!
Q: Nikki this is hard, wth 🤦♀️
A: Even a very small start is okay to post!!!!
Tag everyone and let us help you finish your alchemy!!
PS I intentionally left out a skeleton structure for a song, —- to give you a little bit more room to create we can always later go back in and format things into verses & chorus
