6000 Kisses
Someone once told me
One kiss was all it took
One single connection
Was all they needed
To confirm who God placed in front of them
However
I disagree
One kiss
Can't confirm what many vessels
In your heart long for
One kiss
Can't break walls down
That you built for years
protecting your peace
guarding your heart
not allowing someone to enter
who has other intentions
One kiss
can not show you
that the other person
is meant to be in your life
for a lifetime
Give me six thousand kisses
prove to me
that even on my dying bed
kiss me
while I fall asleep one last time
and began my expediition with the angels
six thousand kisses
One from every past love
that threw stones
bricks
dynamite
at my walls
and damaged it to the point
where no repairs were needed
yet
the structure
is barely hanging on
six thousand kisses
is what I need
for after that first kiss
I need to know that you will not change
that you will remain who you are
mainly on the inside
for the outside
Is not important
when it comes to my heart

I know
is a lot
nevertheless,
if you truly loved me the way
you say you do
those six thousand kisses
should feel like one
and should come with no excuse
those six thousand kisses
should feel different each time
yet
carry the same depth of meaning
making those who said that
One kiss
was all it took
re-evaluate themselves
allowing them to see
that one kiss
Will be here today
and gone tomorrow
but the person
who will give you six thoussand
will be yours....fior a lifetime
