Panic can feel like your body has turned against you.
Your heart races.
Your chest feels tight.
Your breathing changes.
Your mind starts running ahead.
And suddenly, even a normal moment can feel unsafe.
But panic is not proof that you are broken.
Sometimes your body is trying to protect you from a threat that may not be present anymore.
Sometimes your nervous system is overloaded.
Sometimes you have been carrying too much for too long, and your body finally says, “I can’t keep holding this silently.”
So before you shame yourself, pause.
Put your feet on the floor.
Breathe out slowly.
Name what you can see.
Remind yourself:
“This is panic. It feels scary, but it will pass.”
You are not your panic.
You are not your fear.
You are not weak because your body is overwhelmed.
You are learning how to come back to safety.
One breath.
One moment.
One step at a time.
