R-W-Y-G-C
The first interview i ever did for a HVAC job they asked me, as a preliminary question what the different lettered wires R-W-Y-G-C meant on a thermostat, obviously i tried my best to answer and... they laughed at me,
For anyone who is starting out and doesn't know yet R is power, W is heat, Y is cooling, G is fan, and C is common. - i wish i knew that earlier
