House of Nubian University (HON-U) Community Guidelines
Our Mission
The mission of House of Nubian University is to provide a safe, supportive space for the Black community to gain practical knowledge and emotional intelligence for personal growth and collective empowerment. We are a community of learners, leaders, and life-builders.
1. Be Respectful and Supportive
  • Embrace Positivity: This is a space for encouragement and upliftment. We celebrate each other's wins and support each other through challenges.
  • Respect Diverse Experiences: Everyone's journey is unique. We listen with an open mind and treat all members with dignity, regardless of their background, beliefs, or circumstances.
  • No Personal Attacks: Disagreeing is fine, but personal insults, name-calling, or bullying of any kind will not be tolerated.
2. Stay on Topic and Share Value
  • Keep it Relevant: Please keep your posts and comments related to the topics of our curriculum (finance, mindset, family, etc.).
  • Provide Context: When you share information or advice, please provide context from your own experiences or from a reliable source.
  • Avoid Self-Promotion: Please do not post links to your own products, services, or businesses without prior approval. This is a learning space, not a marketplace.
3. Protect Our Safe Space
  • Confidentiality is Key: What is shared in the community stays in the community. We are building a space of trust, and that requires discretion.
  • No Hate Speech: We have a zero-tolerance policy for any form of hate speech, discrimination, or language that demeans or attacks on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other identity.
  • Report Concerns: If you see something that violates these rules, please report it to a community administrator or moderator immediately.
4. Practice Mindful Communication
  • Listen to Understand: Our goal is to ensure everyone is heard and understood. Practice active listening and seek to understand others' perspectives.
  • Take Responsibility: If you accidentally cause offense or a misunderstanding, take responsibility and be willing to apologize. Growth is a process.
  • Remember the Human: Behind every screen is a person. Let's communicate with empathy and kindness.
