When love isn't love.
Ego love.
Most young people are not in love.
The same can be said of many adults.
They are in ego attraction.
Especially those who are young.
They are conditioned and programmed for it.
Many still are.
They can only imagine what love is.
This is why they struggle and suffer for it.
They believe their image of ego love will bring love to them.
Then comes the shock.
What first drew two people together exposes their ego flaws.
They can feel pain, betrayal, insecurity, self doubt, and anger.
They do not yet realize it was their imagination that betrayed them.
What they thought was love was infatuation and imagination.
You can also toss in lust and desire.
None of these are qualifications for love.
They are tricks of our ego.
The lucky ones may have a heart connection.
Something inside them says this is the one.
Lust and imagination were secondary to an intuitive knowing.
This gave them the fertile ground to grow in love.
They still encounted the flaws within each other.
But they knew it was for growth in love.
Not an excuse to project their frustration and anger on the other.
To stay in love means we must grow in love.
Growth only comes after conflict.
When we own our personal issues and do not project them.
Each partner is a mirror of the flaws in the other.
Each can be a mirror or teacher in how to deal with and heal them.
Love never grows without conflict, but also without forgiveness.
