Why We Don’t Rush Games in K–3
Parents,
One thing I want to reinforce about our Kids Program:
We don’t start with games.
And that’s intentional.
At the K–3 level, development should focus on:
• Balance
• Coordination
• Ball control
• Confidence
• Simple decision-making
Games are exciting.
Games don’t build foundations.
Reps do.
Correction does.
Structure does.
In a game, a young player might only touch the ball for a short amount of time. That’s not enough to build real skill or confidence.
That’s why our sessions look the way they do.
We’re building long-term confidence not short-term chaos.
We want kids who feel comfortable with the ball, who move with control, and who know what they’re trying to do.
That’s how confidence grows.
Play With Intention.
Now I’d love to hear from you 👇
Have you noticed a difference in your child’s confidence or control when they get consistent reps in a structured setting?
Or is there something you’ve seen in games that made you realize they need more foundational work?
Drop your thoughts below I love hearing what you’re seeing from the parent side.
