🌙 Welcome Newcomers - Read Please! 🌙
The door is open. The candle is lit. There's a seat at this table with your name on it. This is Hekatean Healing & Herbalism — a living coven of practitioners, healers, kitchen witches, hedge walkers, root workers, and seekers who believe the Hekatean path is walked best in good company. Decades of practice or your very first day — you belong here. These are the rules of this house, carry them please. 🖤 Be generous with your knowledge and gentle with each other 🖤 Honor closed practices — if it isn't yours to share, let it rest 🖤 Share from experience and credit your sources, answering follow up questions is good 🖤 Note safety considerations when discussing herbs, remedies, or ingestibles — we take care of each other 🖤 Lurking is welcome. But when you're ready to speak, we're ready to hear you 🖤 We share what works for us — we don't tell others what should work for them. Personal Gnosis has it’s place. More on that in the “Start Here” Course. 🖤If someone is in crisis, point them toward qualified help 🖤 No self-promotion, spam, or drive-by links. This is a community, not a marketplace. If you have an offering that's genuinely relevant, build relationships here first — we'll notice 🖤 Keep it between the hedges. What's shared in this space stays in this space. Don't screenshot, repost, or share someone's personal story, altar photos, or practice details outside this community without their explicit permission 🖤 Some conversations here will touch heavy ground — grief, ancestral trauma, shadow work, death and dying, the darker faces of devotion. Use content warnings when your post goes into these territories. We don't avoid the dark in this coven, but we enter it with care and we give each other the choice to step in ready

🌿Hekate’s Pharmakeia: Herbal Alphabet Game🌿
We walk the night‑path of the alphabet, invoking a plant, flower, or medicinal herb at each step. If the herb’s hidden wisdom is known, whisper its healing gifts as an offering to the Triple‑Gate. If only the name comes to mind, place it on the altar of letters and let the mysteries grow. How to Play: 1. We begin with A and name a plant of the crossroads. 2. You answer with B, then C, and so on, each entry following the next letter in order. 3. When you can, add a brief note of its traditional medicinal use (e.g., “lavender – calms nervous tension”). 4. If the herb is unfamiliar beyond its name, simply give the name and let the next traveler expand its lore. The Goal: To trace a continuous strand of botanical knowledge, honoring Hekate’s role as keeper of thresholds—between letter and plant, between spirit and flesh. I shall light the first candle below.

🏛️ Wisdom Wednesday🏺
On the rocky hills of Ithaca, archaeologists have confirmed a sanctuary where people worshipped Odysseus, the wandering king of Homer's epic, honored for over a thousand years by the ancients. 🏛️ At a site long called the "School of Homer," they found roof tiles and fragments stamped with his name: ΟΔΥCCEI, "to Odysseus." Alongside them, ritual vessels, spindle whorls, over 100 coins from far-flung cities, and 34 votive offerings left in moments of prayer and gratitude. The civic cult ran from Hellenistic into early Roman times, and pilgrims traveled from across the Greek world to leave their vows. Now hold that beside Hekate. We call her a goddess, but she's older and wider than any single story. Evidence points to her origins among the Carians of Anatolia. A present, most manifest Goddess, her sanctuary at Lagina was drawing worshippers before Athens ever tried to claim her. Hesiod gave her dominion over earth, sea, and sky; the witch-goddess face came later. She was never just a character in a myth. She’s the pattern itself, the intelligence that presides over every threshold. 🗝️ See the mirror? Odysseus was a "myth”, a tall tale, who held real devotion. Hekate is an archetypal force who wears myth like a cloak. The ancients understood what we keep forgetting: a figure doesn't need to be historical to be sacred. They need to mean something. We don't invent these presences at the crossroads. We recognize them there. 🔦Torchlight For Today: "Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns." — Homer, Odyssey (opening line) 👇 Which mythic figure means the most to you, and what would you leave at their shrine? And…are you looking forward Nolan’s upcoming film releasing this Friday? I always liked the “O Brother Where Art Thou” movie adaptation of the Odyssey best. Share your thoughts below. En Erebos, Phos. In darkness, light. Blessings, Tirza 🌿🗝️🌙 #WisdomWednesday #Odysseus 📚Further Reading: https://www.zmescience.com/science/news-science/archaeology-odysseus-sanctuary/
