Hi all,
It's been over a year that I have been called to sound healing...the blocks and barriers seem rock hard.
I'm sharing all of this simply to share.
Kindly please do not offer advice. Thank you 🙏🏻
Support and empathy welcomed.
I believe in the calling to sound, and am dedicated to the devotion of this beautiful art and science of sound healing...
Well I think I am seeing now why I have been resistant (perhaps part scared -sh*tless)
Sharing in case this helps shed a light on why we get so tripped up and cannot integrate and embody the shadow..
📚 Story of activation:
Today at a meeting with my business mentor, I became defensive because he couldn't understand how a document I built would support my success in business planning.
Out of this experience, a huge realization/patterned became visible - I have felt like I needed approval to survive. And speaking up for myself, or explaining how something helps me to someone who is supposed to support me, has felt impossible.
The words couldn't surface, I become choked up and stop breathing. It happens with public speaking sometimes too.
As a child, I never got angry. The anger was channeled into rebellion late into my 20s, because I was forced to be the good girl and simply consent.
Instead I would cry. Today, that patterned resurfaced - because he couldn't understand me, I wanted to cry. My explanation felt futile. A waste of breath.
Well come to find out, acupuncture and Chinese medicine reveals I have stubborn Qi stagnation in my liver.
There's a connection to the eyes and the liver. The liver opens up to the eyes. So it would make sense this meridian would go through the throat.

Claude AI responded:
"Liver channel and its connective tissue relationships run through the throat, and in TCM the throat is often where suppressed Liver qi gets physically caught — you feel the impulse to speak rise, and then it hits a bottleneck right at the point of expression. That tightening isn't random; it's the anger reaching the exit and getting stopped there instead of leaving as words."
"When you hold back your words, that emotional constraint causes the energy pushing upward to get backed up right at the throat."
"This stuck energy creates physical tightness in the throat, known as Plum Pit Qi (or Mei He Qi) — the sensation of a lump that you cannot swallow or spit out."

📰 Here's an article about it, written by an acupuncturist:
Lesson: learning to channel this enormous eruptive anger 🌋
Solution: Well, it's the perfect time for me to work on the vocal toning I have resisted for a year.
Now I have so much compassion and understand why: if you weren't taught how to redirect these emotions, if eruption and suppression the only way anger was modeled for GENERATIONS - it would make sense why fear became dominant.
Because avoiding and fearing the emotions made it feel like it went away, when infact it was compounding.
So...here's to the healing journey of self first - on a deeper level and more somatic level than I have ever experienced.
The outlets of healing (sound, nature, walking, journaling, and for me Qi Gong) become a safe space.
I have so much respect for healers, and for all of you here..thank you for showing up and doing the work. For normalizing the sound healing experience, and creating space to be heard and seen. If you made it this far into my reflection, thank you so much for listening. I am humbled and grateful to be here on this journey.
