LSD Engineering — LIFE Pillar
Module 1: Know Thyself Before You Build Anything
Here’s the full Module 1 build-out:
MODULE 1: WHO ARE YOU, REALLY?
The Foundation Before the Foundation
Pillar: LIFE
Level: 101 — Foundation
Duration: 4 weeks
Format: Video lessons + written exercises + community check-ins
Platform: Skool (Hatter High)
MODULE OVERVIEW
Before you design anything — a business, a brand, a life — you need raw materials. You are the raw material. Most people skip this step. They copy someone else’s blueprint and wonder why the building keeps collapsing.
This module strips everything back. No performance. No pretending. Just honest excavation of who you actually are, what you actually believe, and what you’re actually made of.
“I didn’t build DrHatterZ out of nothing. I built it out of everything I’d been through. The hat, the glasses, the name — that’s not costume. That’s architecture.”
— Hatter
WEEK 1: THE AUDIT
“You can’t fix what you won’t face.”
Lesson 1.1 — The Identity Gap
• Who you are vs. who you perform
• The masks we wear to survive (and why they stop working)
• Exercise: The Mirror Inventory — write 10 things you believe about yourself. Mark each one: earned or inherited.
Lesson 1.2 — Your Origin Story
• Every engineer studies the materials they’re working with
• Your history is data, not destiny
• Exercise: The Timeline — map the 10 moments that shaped you most. No filter. No spin.
Lesson 1.3 — The Weight You’re Carrying
• Unprocessed experience as structural damage
• How trauma shows up in decisions
• Exercise: The Load List — what are you still carrying that doesn’t belong to you?
WEEK 2: THE EXCAVATION
“Find what’s real under all the rubble.”
Lesson 2.1 — Values Excavation
• The difference between stated values and lived values
• Why most people’s values are borrowed
• Exercise: The Crisis Test — what have you protected at personal cost? That’s your value system.
Lesson 2.2 — Your Non-Negotiables
• Every structure has load-bearing walls. What are yours?
• Hatter case study: 13 years sobriety, 18+ years no nicotine — not rules, architecture
• Exercise: The Floor — list 5 things you will not compromise under any pressure. Write why for each one.
Lesson 2.3 — Faith Architecture
• What do you actually believe about how the world works?
• Belief systems as structural engineering (Goddard, Hill, lived experience)
• Exercise: The Mustard Seed Statement — write your personal faith statement in one paragraph. Not religious. Real.
WEEK 3: THE BREAKTHROUGH
“Shattered doesn’t mean broken. It means you have raw material.”
Lesson 3.1 — The Shattered But Unstoppable Framework
• Why the breaking points are the building points
• Hatter story: homelessness, loss, legal battles — as engineering data
• Exercise: The Fracture Map — identify your 3 biggest breakdowns. Write what each one taught you about your own design.
Lesson 3.2 — Trauma-Informed Self-Leadership
• Leading yourself when the system has failed you
• The difference between being a victim of circumstance and a student of it
• Exercise: The Reframe — take one story you’ve told as a wound. Rewrite it as a lesson.
Lesson 3.3 — Sobriety, Clarity & Peak Performance
• Clarity as a competitive advantage
• What you gain when you stop numbing
• Exercise: The Clarity Inventory — what are you using to avoid full presence? (substances, screens, busyness, people) — no judgment, just data.
WEEK 4: THE DECLARATION
“An engineer doesn’t just understand the material. They commit to what they’re building.”
Lesson 4.1 — Your Personal Manifesto
• What a manifesto is and why every LSD Engineer writes one
• Examples: Pioneer Project Manifesto, DrHatterZ brand manifesto
• Exercise: Draft Your Manifesto — 1 page. Who you are. What you stand for. What you’re building. What you refuse.
Lesson 4.2 — The Daily Ritual Stack
• Journaling as engineering (not therapy — engineering)
• Morning architecture: how you start determines what you build
• Exercise: Design Your Stack — build a 30-minute morning ritual using the LIFE framework
Lesson 4.3 — Module Capstone
• The Life Foundation Document (LFD)
• Combines: Mirror Inventory + Timeline + Non-Negotiables + Manifesto
• Shared with the Hatter High community for accountability and feedback

HATTER’S NOTE TO STUDENTS
You’re going to want to skip this module. You’re going to think you already know yourself. You don’t. None of us do until we sit down and actually look.
I spent years performing DrHatterZ before I understood him. The hat came first. The understanding came later — and it almost cost me everything.
Do the work here. Everything else is built on this.
