Phrases vs Scales

I'm still new to this approach (I'm drilling the 4 formations), but I have to say playing the 4 formations is a breath of fresh air. I come from a 3NPS and CAGED background, and put off learning harmonic minor and melodic minor shapes because playing scales is just so.. boring?

But I find joy in playing these 4 formations/phrases; they are musical and fun. It is a lightbulb moment for sure. Anyone else feel this way? Practice time is feeling more like a pleasure rather than a burden.
