What’s Native Deodorant?
A natural, aluminum-free deodorant brand launched in 2015 by Moiz Ali (a lawyer, not a chemist). He started with a tiny budget, outsourced tiny batches, iterated the formula 24 times, and after nailing product + paid ads... sold to Procter & Gamble for a whopping $100M in 2.5 years.
Native’s First $1K: The Moves That Mattered:
1. Test, Fail Fast, Pivot
- $500 on Google Ads but FLOPPED. Moiz didn’t “wait it out” he cut it.
- Moved to Facebook where CPMs/CPAs made more sense for storytelling creatives.
- He tracked CTR, CPA, ROAS daily >>> Excel sheet, nothing fancy.
2. Creative & Offer Tightness
- Clear promise: “Natural deodorant that actually works.”
- Visuals and copy mirrored the problem/solution.
- Aim: Profit (or nearly) on the first order so the ad budget can recycle itself.
