Cold Weather First Aid and CPR Tips
❄️ CPR & First Aid Tips for Cold Weather
Cold weather increases the risk of emergencies. Stay prepared with these safety tips:
• Hypothermia: Look for shivering, confusion, slurred speech. Move the person to warmth, remove wet clothing, and warm gradually.
• Frostbite: Numbness, pale or hard skin. Warm slowly with body heat or warm (not hot) water. Never rub.
• Cold-related cardiac events: Call 911 immediately. Start CPR and use an AED if available.
• Slips & falls: Treat sprains or fractures with rest, ice, compression, and elevation (R.I.C.E.).
• Outdoor work: Take warm breaks, hydrate, and wear layers.
💡 Business tip: Ensure staff know where AEDs are located and are CPR-trained—cold stress can increase cardiac risk.
