In the last 2 days I have watched 2 different videos that have asked the Question
What Is ART?
They each did it in there own way but they seemed to come to a similar answerer.
it struck me as an important question to ask in the age of AI.
The first video was by Brandon Sanders
it was an essay on art in the age of AI and what is art?
Highly recommend and linked below
The second was a show on Netflix
About a group of artists who set up an apartment in Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island.
While the idea of an apartment in a mall caught my attention...
It had me thinking about it days later
the central leader was an art teacher
He always questioned:
how can you make art?
why you were making Art
What assumptions do you have about ART?
Both came to a similar conclusion
We are the ART.
Us working on ourselves
Growing
Trying to understand ourselves and the world around
This is ART.
What we chose to make and like is art
to be human is to be making art by being alive.
I like to think I have been doing art with what I am trying to do
I have made my share of art because I wanted it to exist in the world
What is art to you?
What ART have you made recently?
do you agree or disagree with my this idea of ART?
I am curious to hear what you think below
