Are we accidentally violating TCPA with our SMS campaigns?
As an business owner, I used to think TCPA was only something lead gen and call centers had to worry about but once I started using SMS for abandoned carts and promos, I realized it applies to us too. At first, I just wanted to move fast and grow revenue but after digging into it, I tightened up my opt in process, made consent super clear, separated transactional vs marketing texts and made opt out easy. Honestly, cleaning that up was a win. Not only did it reduce risk but engagement actually improved because the people on my list actually wanted the texts. Fewer complaints, better response rates and more predictable campaigns. Curious how other business owners here are handling SMS consent and compliance. Are you being strict about opt ins or taking a lighter approach?
