This may be a frustrating question, but this is one of the most important questions, especially if you are running a production company or launching one because many people will come to you and ask you how much something cost.
How much does a documentary cost?
How much does a commercial cost?
How much does a video cost?
It's the same idea as shopping for a house and that's a great analogy to ask on potential clients and clients because when we look to buy a house, we create a budget. We know that we make X amount of money and we can put Y amount towards the endeavor. This is a great way to just feel people out because some people just don't have the money and there's no amount of selling that you can do to make them create money out of thin air. You just want to know how to budget your line items so whether somebody has $1,000 5,000 100,000 you'll want to be able to break it down in a budget so that you know your margins and you know what's reasonably fitting for a budget.
This is the wild wild rest right now in video production. Once you own all the equipment you could literally set a budget for $0 but then you can't eat.
So let's be smart. Let's be productive. Let's make some movies.
