I picked up golf this summer ⛳️
I had never played before, but I wanted to do something that pushed me outside my comfort zone. I also thought it might be a fun way to meet people, get outside, and try something completely different.
Before I knew it, a few friends joined in and we signed up for a clinic together.
And let me tell you… golf is humbling.😅
It requires patience, persistence, focus, attention to tiny details, and the ability to keep showing up even when you feel like you have absolutely no idea what you’re doing.
Some days I spend half the time swearing at myself.
But most of the time? I’m laughing, smiling, and leaving feeling lighter than when I arrived.
It has become a release for me. A challenge. A reminder that being new at something is uncomfortable, but also really good for you.
There is something powerful about letting yourself be a beginner again.
You don’t have to be good at something for it to be worth doing.
Sometimes the point is simply to try, to grow, to connect, and to remind yourself that confidence is built through action — not before it.
So here’s your reminder:
Try the thing. Take the class. Join the clinic. Say yes to the invite.
Step outside the version of yourself that only does what feels familiar.
You might be frustrated. You might feel awkward. You might totally miss the ball.
But you also might laugh more, meet new people, and walk away feeling more alive than you expected.
That’s clarity too. 🤍
