Easier to ask playtesters for gameplay footage now with Steam built-in Recorder
Steam added a new feature where players can record their gameplay with a built-in recorder.
Previously Randall mentioned how he collects gameplay footage for feedback from playtesters by asking them to record the game.
I've been thinking of doing this too but my biggest worry was that many players don't have recording software and don't know how to record footage. But now that there is a built-in recorder it'll be much easier to ask that of players and will make it more likely to get gameplay footage from players.
There is also API available for developers to make it easier for players to record.
