☕️ Amazing first Coffee Time with Freelancers
Today we had our first "coffee time with freelancers" via Zoom. The conversation quickly pivoted to a deep examination of the *future of work*, particularly the idealization of freelancing versus the economic realities faced by many workers, including those holding multiple jobs to survive. A significant portion of the dialogue focused on the increasing threat of *automation and artificial intelligence (AI)* replacing human labor in various industries, leading to discussions about potential mass unemployment, the collapse of the economy, and the viability of concepts like universal basic income. Finally, the speakers touch upon the negative impacts of *unchecked capitalism* and gentrification on local populations and the irreplaceable value of *human connection* and experience in contrast to robotic efficiency.
