Before people give us their ear, they often need to see our witness.
Not perfection.
Not performance.
Not religious language.
They need to see patience. Mercy. Love. Truth held with gentleness.
Our words matter, but our witness usually speaks first.
If someone is already wounded, harshness may push them farther away. If someone is confused, pressure may make them shut down. If someone has been disappointed by people who claimed to know God, they may need to see His heart before they can hear His invitation.
That is where we must slow down.
Can they see Jesus in our patience?
Can they see the Father’s love in our compassion?
Can they sense the Holy Spirit’s gentleness in our words?
This is why an intimate relationship with God matters.
When we walk closely with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are not just repeating what we have heard. We are living from the safest, truest, most faithful relationship we will ever have.
And when that relationship is real in us, people can often feel the difference.
We are not drawing people to ourselves.
We are helping them recognize Him.
The next part is learning to plant without controlling the growth.
Heart Check
People may forget the words we use, but they often remember how they felt in our presence. If they feel judged before they feel loved, they may never stay long enough to hear truth. Letting them see Jesus in us means carrying His heart before we carry our message.
Question: When people encounter me, do they feel closer to Christ or further from Him?
