💙 Father's Day Stories: The Memories That Stay With Us
Happy Father's Day to all the dads, grandfathers, father figures, and to those remembering someone they love today. 💙 As memoir writers, we know that sometimes the smallest moments become the stories we carry forever—a funny joke, a lesson learned, a road trip, a hug, or even a conversation we'll never forget. Today feels like the perfect day to pause and remember the people and moments that shaped us. 📖 Do you have a Father's Day story to share from today or from your past? I'd love to hear it. Drop your memory in the comments. Sometimes one story can spark another and remind us why preserving our memories matters so much. 💙 This is my late husband and my son, 20 years ago!

Wonder bird and Friends Mia's Fancy Dress Dream
@Cristal Vancarson As a small gift from my side, I created Wonder Bird & Friends: Mia’s Fancy Dress Dream, a kid-friendly story inspired by one of your story points. Mia is a fan of your fashion journey, and her love for fancy dress reflects the creativity and confidence you've inspired in others. Wishing you all the best for Dear Cristal, 1984—excited to see it come to life!
New York or is it LA?
I first wrote that line when I was 19...sitting in the high sierras daydreaming of what life as a musician on the road would be like. I still have one notebook from that period of my life with that title in it. A little over a month ago I turned it into a song. I wrote an entire LP called "Painted Moon" with poems from that book. It was a collection of ideas that started when I was 18 and continued onward. Now it is music. Little did I know back then, that I would literally tour and film concerts in New York at Madison Square Garden with Jimmy Page and Robert Plant '95 and Los Angeles at the LA County Fair with Bad Company in 2010. I dreamed as a teen of being a rock star, but never imagined I would eventually tour and run sound and create concert TV specials and later live webcasts. It was quite the ride and I have so many great memories. The first time I got to meet and speak with Jimmy Page was at Wembley Arena in London, he was in the catering area backstage checking out the food...I walked up to him and said "Jimmy" he spun around...I reached my hand out and shook his hand and said "I just want to shake the hand that ripped my head apart for the last 25 years"...he laughed and said, "You know bloke, no one has ever said that to me before!" Immediately there was a camaraderie between us. I was fortunate enough to do two tours and create two concert TV specials with Page & Plant in '95 and '98. "And the beat goes on..."

🌸 Show Me Your Mom. Happy Mother's Day
This week inside Memoir Skool, we are doing something special. Drop a photo of your mom below. 👇 It can be old or new. Black and white or color. Formal or completely candid. Just her — the way you remember her most. Every photo tells a story. And every story deserves to be remembered. That is exactly what Memoir Skool is built for. And if you want me to do something special with that photo — Leave a comment below, and I will personally reach out. 🌸 I can turn her photo into something beautiful. An animated tribute. A vintage magazine cover. A glowing portrait she would have loved. Something you can keep. Something you can share. Something that honors her story. To every mom in this community — seen and unseen, here and remembered — Happy Mother's Day. 💛 Drop her photo below. I cannot wait to see the woman who made you. 👇 — Cristal Hollywood photographer · Memoir Skool founder · Keeper of stories
