Our Website is LIVE!
In preparation for this past weekend's Wellness Fair here in Port Washington, we cranked on getting our new website up and running. Please take a look and let us know what you think. A few highlights... If you want to know what Brands we TRUST and recommend, you can find them on the Trusted Brands page. Have a brand you love, please share it with us. Or, if you're curious about a brand, please ask. Any upcoming RETREATS - we will share here first and give our community priority to attend. You can also sign up via the website and learn more on the retreats page. We are co-hosting with BioCulture 11/17-21 and only a few spots are available. Our 2026 retreat will be in Nosara - a Blue Zone in Costa Rica. Currently accepting people to the waiting list. Coaching - we are launching a 6-week coaching program called Liv3.0. You've pushed through life thus far and survived and maybe even achieved. Now... It's time for the chapter where you thrive. Liv3.0 is the program that will get you there - solidifying the basics of sleep, nutrition, movement and recovery and then diving deep into the relationship you have with yourself so you can fix it, save it, optimize it and then show up as your best self for others in your life. Read more on the website. Lastly, we will be moving our community off of this platform in the next few weeks. While Skool is easy to use, I believe there are more robust tools we need that are not available here. You'll be notified about the new platform when it's ready to go. In the meantime, please consider signing up for our mailing list on our website. www.fosteringlongevity.com PS - we are still working on some of the language on the site and welcome ANY feedback you have. Thank you for being a part of our tribe! -Hayley & Brian

Huberman Lab Podcast Summary: Improve Focus with Behavioral Tools & Medication for ADHD | Dr. John Kruse
This is a good one for those of us who have focus issues or kids with focus issues. In the latest episode of the Huberman Lab podcast, Professor Andrew Huberman interviews Dr. John Kruse, an MD, PhD, and practicing psychiatrist specializing in the treatment of ADHD. They discuss various treatments for ADHD, including drug treatments like Adderall and Ritalin, as well as non-prescription approaches. They also explore the role of caffeine, sleep timing, meals, and exercise in shaping attention and focus levels. Dr. Kruse suggests that ADHD and other focus deficits may be linked to a misregulated circadian rhythm. The episode provides valuable insights into the origins of ADHD, its impact on daily life, and potential strategies for managing symptoms. - ADHD can be treated with medication, such as Adderall and Ritalin, which increase dopamine and norepinephrine levels in the brain. - These drugs can have side effects, including increased heart rate and blood pressure, and a rare risk of amphetamine-induced psychosis. - Caffeine can also be used to improve focus and attention, but dosage and timing should be carefully considered. - Maintaining a regular sleep schedule, eating balanced meals, and engaging in exercise can also help manage ADHD symptoms. - ADHD may be linked to a misregulated circadian rhythm, which can affect sleep patterns and overall attention and focus levels. - A multifaceted approach to treatment is necessary for managing ADHD, taking into account medication, caffeine, sleep, diet, and exercise. - There are both short-acting and long-acting medication options for ADHD, with different benefits and considerations. - Vivance is a long-acting amphetamine product designed to be less attractive to drug abusers. - Individuals with ADHD may struggle with accurately estimating time, which can contribute to challenges in organization and planning. - Bright light therapy, typically used for seasonal depression, may also improve ADHD symptoms by helping to resynchronize internal rhythms.

Anyone else have FLU A in their house?
It's been a week... my little one came down with Flu A last weekend and had a brutal fever for 3 straight days - like 105... not fun. She's doing great and back at school but I thought I would drop some tips in here about what we are taking to keep the rest of the house healthy. It should go without saying that the basics you can do stay healthy during the VIRAL season are: 1 - Get sleep - 7-8 hours a night 2 - Get sunlight, especially in the morning 3 - Move your body - go for walks, get out in the fresh air and nature 4 - Eat clean, healthy, Whole Foods packed with vitamins and nutrients - and avoid processed, high sugar foods 5 - Hydrate with Salt - we will love LMNT 6 - Find calm to manage stress - I did more Yoga this week and made sure to find at least 5- 10 minutes each day for meditation. I also listen to the Calm app at night before bed and did daily journaling. Note that all of the above are FREE. They cost you nothing with maybe the exception of #4 but we all have to eat and you should be eating as clean as possible. Daily Immune Support: Vitamin C Vitamin D3 with K1 and K2 (take with fat at a meal) Zinc Black Seed Oil Oregano Oil Lysine - just added this based on a recommendation. Elderberry If there's a cough in the house, I will add in: Quercetin Curcumin Melatonin at night (3mg at most) If you can, I highly recommend getting in a few sauna sessions - check out RXFit in Port or Boost in Roslyn or find one near you. Sauna is a great way to detox. Community member, @Linda Moslow just shared with me this blog post from Dr. Mark Hyman... we seem to be on the same page although he also adds in a few others such as Vitamin A, Tartary Buckwheat and Medicinal Mushrooms - we have something called Shii which I have also been taking. What did I miss? Anyone have anything to add?

Eudemonia is Back - Discount for 2025 Event!
Hello community. Brian and I are attending Eudēmonia Summit on November 13–16, 2025 in West Palm - it's also my birthday weekend and this is how I am choosing to spend it, so you know it's gotta be AMAZING. At last years event, we met Andrew Huberman, Mark Hyman, Gabrielle Lyon, Murray Hildary, Cynthia Thurlow, JJ Virgin and so many more incredible speakers. We also met so many like-minded, awesome humans... some of which are in this community. :-) The event is offering a presale until March 3 for friends who attended last year and they've given me a $100 discount code to share with you - here's the catch. The discount can only be used by 5 people so if the dates work, I HIGHLY recommend going. You will not be disappointed. The days all start off with workouts by some top notch people in the field. Last year, we worked out with Don Saladino, Jillian Michaels, Tarryn Tooney. The speaking panels had all of the top names in the health and wellness space - way too many to name. Last year we bought the crazy expensive ticket for a once in a lifetime experience. This year, I purchased the Enhanced badge that comes with a free year of Function Health - $499 value. It is a higher priced Conference but the relationships we made there are PRICELESS! To Redeem: 1. Go to https://eudemonia.net/. 2. Select TICKETS in the upper right and choose your badge type 3. Enter the Access Code: gratitude 4. Select the 3-day badge you want. 5. Apply my discount code. My code is: hfo-fpd Please let us know if you plan on attending or used the code for the ticket. We get nothing in return - just time with our community at an awesome event.
