Hey, I'm Sim.

And yes, I'm just your friendly HR lady, but with over twenty years of stories, fifteen countries worth of lessons learned and a genuine obsession with helping people figure out this whole HR and life thing.

I've sat in boardrooms in New York and London. I've coached executives through difficult conversations and helped new HR coordinators survive their first disciplinary meeting. I've built HR teams from scratch and inherited absolute chaos. I've made every mistake you can imagine and a few you probably haven't.

That's exactly why I created this space.

What This Place Is

This community isn't another HR course where someone reads you employment law. It's not a place where we pretend there's a perfect playbook for everything.

This is where you come when you've just had that conversation with a manager who simply won't listen and you need to vent to people who get it. When you're staring at a policy and wondering if it's any good. When you're ready to step up for promo but not sure how to get there.

A Bit About Me

I've been Director of People at high-growth tech companies, Global Head of DE&I, and have navigated HR across the UK, Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific. Chartered MCIPD, MCMI, Mental Health First Aider, the credentials matter, but honestly, what matters more is that I've lived this stuff.

I started FlightHR because I kept meeting brilliant people struggling with HR challenges that shouldn't have been that hard. They just needed someone who'd been there to help them figure it out.
