Hi,
A little story from my life this week.
My nine-year-old granddaughter looked at me and said, "Grandpa, I want to paint your fingernails.”
Of course I said yes.
She was very proud of her work and gave me very clear instructions not to remove the nail polish.
So I haven’t.
They’ve been painted for several days now.
A few people have suggested I should probably take it off.
But I always smile and say the same thing:
“My granddaughter painted them and asked me not to.”
What I’ve noticed is something beautiful.
Every time I tell that story, people smile.
Sometimes they laugh.
Sometimes their face softens for just a moment.
And in that moment there’s a tiny spark of joy between two human beings.
It reminded me of something simple.
Bringing a little joy into someone’s life doesn’t have to be complicated.
A smile to the person serving your coffee.
A kind word.
A moment of attention.
A small story shared between strangers.
These things are easy to overlook.
But to me, this is part of what living a life that matters looks like.
Small moments of kindness that ripple quietly through the day.
With Gratitude
Warren
