🎯 Insider Tip Friday:
The #1 Reason Qualified Vets Get "Not Qualified" on USAJOBS.
Most rejections aren't because you lack the experience... it's because HR can't credit it.
Every job you list needs 4 things, or it doesn't count toward your qualifications:
1️⃣ Organization name
2️⃣ Duty title
3️⃣ Hours per week
4️⃣ Exact dates (MM/YY–MM/YY)
Miss the hours-per-week on a key role? HR literally cannot count those weeks toward your specialized experience, even if you worked there full-time for years. It's not "assumed." It has to be on the page.
Quick check: Pull up your current resume. Does every job block show hours/week? If not, that's probably costing you a "Best Qualified" rating right now.
Same goes for federal roles if you don't list your pay plan/series/grade (like GS-0301-11), HR can't verify you meet the "52 weeks at the next lower grade" requirement, no matter how good the duties sound.
Fix this one thing before you touch anything else on your resume.
Drop questions below if you're not sure how to find your hours/week or grade info. 🇺🇸
