Here are some of my comments 👇
I am so excited about Attunement because:
1. It will help me continue to build the relationships between my family and my girlfriend
2. It will equip me with the necessary tools, resources, and methodologies for my clients (I serve veterans specifically)
3. I believe it will ultimately help shape the entire mental healthcare system. Going from "treatment" to prevention and reversal.
Three things I learned from the videos are 👇
1. No one is truly "disordered", as we live in an ordered world.
2. The current system is binary, saying "you have this disorder" or you don't. This effectively dehumanizes the person. The Attunement Model instead shares a "Stress Continuum" that every human experiences, regardless of previous mental diagnoses.
3. Since I work with veterans, it gave me a clearer insight of how this model can truly help reverse mental illness in this community, not just by working at the individual level, but looking at the family dynamics of the spouse and child(ren).
Here’s a question about Attunement I have for the community:
I do have certain discernments with what specific practices I'd like to introduce to my clients, particularly when it comes to spiritual/yogic practices. Throughout this training moving forward, is there an expectation of introducing those practices to my clients? Or is there optionality?
