Truth:
Your life is not something you invented; it is something you received.
Micro-Teaching:
Most people live like they have to manufacture themselves every day. Build the image, hold the role, keep the pace, make sure nobody sees too much weakness. That wears a person down. You can dress it up as ambition or responsibility, but underneath it is often the same old lie: I have to be the source of my own life.
Christian reality cuts that lie at the root. You did not speak yourself into existence. You do not sustain your own breath. You are not held together by your discipline, your reputation, or your ability to keep moving. Your life is received from God, moment by moment. That does not make you small in a worthless way. It makes you free in a creaturely way.
Practice:
Before you start proving or producing today, pause and receive your life from God.
Reflection:
Where am I acting like I have to manufacture myself?
Word of the Day:Received — given by another, not generated from yourself.
