Analysis paralysis
Analysis paralysis is when a person becomes so overwhelmed by too many choices, details, or possible outcomes that they can’t make a decision at all. Instead of moving forward, they stay stuck in endless thinking and over-analyzing.
Why It Matters
  • Time gets wasted on thinking instead of doing.
  • Opportunities pass by while waiting for the “perfect” answer.
  • Stress and frustration build up, lowering confidence.
Three Actionable Solutions
  1. The “Good Enough” Rule Instead of waiting for the perfect solution, act on the first option that meets at least 70–80% of your needs. I like this approach because it gives you a better chance at taking real action and helps to break the cycle of waiting for perfection and builds momentum.
  2. Decision by Elimination Cross off the options that don’t align with your goals or values. Keep cutting until only a few remain. This approach helps to simplify complex choices and reduces mental clutter.
  3. Small Test First Instead of committing to a big decision right away, run a quick trial or mini-experiment. The benefit here is that you receive real-world feedback, reduces fear, and builds confidence in choosing.
Let the real work begin!
