⚡Lap Joints | 18g 304 SS 👨‍🏭
Lap joint settings , equipment, & strategy.
-When welding laps, I prefer standing the part vertically with the shelf (Larger Tube) on the bottom. It allows you to come around the tube and stack the weld with the shelf acting as the floor.
-After trying it various ways- I found this is the best strategy for the most consistent, lap weld.
-I will evenly space tacks so that all of my start and stop points have equal length and heat rings.
-Generally, I will use a max peddle strategy to keep the puddle consistent in size.
Settings / Equipment
1) 36-38 AMPs
2) 1.2 seconds pre flow
3) 12 seconds post flow
4) 5-10 CFH purge
5) #16 welding cup
6) 30 CFH through cup
7) 0.035" SuperMissle Filler
8) Count for consistent cadence.
Enjoy!
**Will be adding lap joiny specific content in the TWM course soon!**
