Equity requires clean hands.
This means a person must examine their own conduct before demanding correction from others.
Clean hands does not mean perfection. It means honesty, correction, responsibility, and good faith.
Ask yourself:
- Did I answer in time?
- Did I keep a copy?
- Did I act in honor?
- Did I make assumptions?
- Did I ignore warnings?
- Did I speak recklessly?
- Did I create part of the disorder?
- What must I correct first?
Many people want power without purification. That is dangerous.
In this chamber, we do not use equity language to escape responsibility. We use it to restore responsibility.
Today’s reflection:
What is one matter where you need to clean up your side of the record before asking for correction?
That answer is not shame. It is the doorway back to standing.
