Integration Period
Why is it important to take integration time in between your psychedelic experiences?
An integration period is important because it gives you time to understand & integrate the experiences that you've had.
When you are microdosing, it is recommended to microdose for several months at a time to get the full benefit but it's also recommended that after that several month period that you also take a several month period away from the medicine to understand how it has changed your brain & to really implement those changes into your daily life without the medicine. It's very important to understand that the medicine is an ally that teaches you a new way of existing. It is not meant to be a crutch that you lean on every single day, month or year.
When it comes to ceremonial use, I only recommend people to do about 1-3 ceremonies maximum per year & to spend the rest of the year integrating it because during those deeper experiences, you are put in contact with a lot of different energy & information & it takes months & sometimes even years to really fully integrate it. Microdosing can also be used as a tool to help integrate your deeper experiences in between them.
It's really important to pay attention to your intuition & pay attention to when the medicine is calling you & also when it's telling you to take a step back. The medicine will communicate that to you through sensations in your body. A lot of people will feel the call to work with a medicine for a period of time & then when it's time, they will feel the urge to take space away & integrate.
As you work more with the medicine, you will become very in tune with what you need in each given moment.
Everyone's path is completely different & we require different levels of support from the medicine. Working with this medicine is a calling & each calling is different. If you're feeling the call to work with it then you should definitely answer that call. If you're feeling the urge to step away from it then step away from it. Your body knows what you need & the medicine will guide you even when you aren’t under its influence. It is a live & conscious spirit that communicates if you can learn it’s language.
I definitely would recommend taking several integration periods whether it’s from a mirodose regimen or a ceremony, especially if you are feeling called to work with the medicine indefinitely. Some people have one psychedelic experience or 1 microdosing journey in their entire life & that is all that they need, but some people might feel the calling to explore the medicine very extensively. Taking time away from the medicine is just as important as working with it.
