Today was the GCSE English Literature Paper 1 exam, and I just wanted to say how incredibly proud I am of all of our students. 💛
Over the past year, they have worked so hard preparing for this moment. They’ve spent hours developing the skills needed to succeed, from retrieval practice and memorising key quotations, to practising analytical PETAL paragraphs and answering a wide range of exam questions.
Students have revised texts such as:
📚 A Christmas Carol
📚 Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde
📚 Macbeth
📚 Romeo and Juliet
But most importantly, they didn’t just complete practice questions, they acted on the feedback they received and applied it to future responses. That is where real progress happens.
Today was the result of months of consistency, resilience and hard work, and regardless of how they feel the exam went, they should all be incredibly proud of themselves.
Now, we regroup and focus on the next challenge:
🎯 Paper 2 Literature - Monday 19th May
Then it’s onto English Language shortly afterwards!
Keep going everyone. The finish line is getting closer, and all of the hard work will be worth it 💪
