My empire starting point

and everyone! My name is Nikki, I’m currently living in Hanoi, Vietnam.

I’ve posted the last few days so by now you may remember me 😂.

I started salsa in 2010. Wow, that was 16 years ago! But I mostly only social dance on and off occasionally.
My biggest struggle is that I lack fundamentals, so musically I’m confused between 1 and 5; technically I’ve never grown out of basic steps so I feel awkward to do many of the body movements & steps and it’s difficult to remember the steps. Another struggle is that I don’t have a partner to do the partner work, so I’m also curious on how I can still benefit from the partner work classes on my own.
I believe I’m definitely a beginner 😭
In the next 12 months I want to be precisely on time, feel & look much more natural with my body movements, be more musical and transfer that to my own styling. I’m not sure if this is too ambitious. I’m currently taking the beginner course together with the L1&L2 classes. I’m trying to put in 1 hour of training per day.

The video is from the other day when I took one of the fundamental footwork classes.
